 One day, a farmer's donkey fell into a well. The donkey cried out for help for a long time while the farmer thought of what to do. Eventually, the farmer figured the donkey was old, and since the well was dry, it was better to cover it up than to pull the donkey out. He asked his neighbors for help, and they each took a shovel and began to throw dirt into the well. The donkey cried loudly when he realized they were putting dirt on him. But then, to everyone's surprise, he got quiet after a few shovels of dirt. When the farmer looked into the well, he was amazed. With each shovelful of dirt that fell on him, the donkey was shaking it off and stepping on it. Soon, the donkey climbed up to the top of the well and walked out!
